Sagar Desai

Prof. Sagar Desai is an accomplished academician and professional in the field of Architecture, Urban Planning and Sustainable Development, with over 15 years of teaching experience and significant industry exposure.

He completed his Bachelor of Architecture (2003–2008) from SCET, Surat, followed by an MBA in Technology Management from CEPT University (2010). He further specialized through PGDUPDL, PGDESD, and a Master of Urban Planning, along with earning the prestigious IGBC–Accredited Professional certification.

Professionally, he has served at several reputed institutions including Anant National University, APIED, SMAID (Anand), PP Savani University, GC Patel Institute, and currently works as an Associate Professor at Bhagwan Mahavir University, Surat since 2023. He has also worked in architectural firms such as P.D. Patel Architects, Atharva Architects, and in urban development projects with AVKUDA. His roles have included teaching, academic coordination, exam duties, admissions, and committee leadership, including anti-ragging and sports committees.

Prof. Desai has been widely invited as an External Examiner, Reviewer, and Subject Expert by GTU, VNSGU, Parul University, ITM, GCPIA and Bhagwan Mahavir University. He has contributed to more than 70+ seminars, workshops, QIPs, FDPs, and has published various research papers, journal articles, and even authored a book on architectural practice.

His research interests include architectural pedagogy, smart cities, slum rehabilitation, and sustainability. He is a member of several professional bodies, including IIA, GICEA, ATINER, APA, IEREK, and IJES editorial boards.

Alongside academics, he has achievements in sports, photography, chess, and has actively participated in NASA events.
