0Nehru Report 1928
Under the chairmanship of Motilal Nehru Recommendation -
1- Equal rights for women, Right to form a union and universal adult suffrage in all 19 fundamental rights were recommended
2- Dominion Status
3- Secular state i.e dissociation of state from religion
4- Joint electorate for both Centre & province rejected separate electorate
5- Redistribution of provincial boundaries on a linguistic basis.
6- Parliamentary system –
(a)The house of representatives (lower house) to have 500 members elected for five yrs term. The Senate (upper house) to have 200 members elected for 7yrs
(b) Provincial councils to have a 5yrs term, headed by the governor.
