Over the past six months, I have been actively engaged in teaching phonics to young learners, laying the foundation for their early reading and speaking skills. As a beginner in the field, I approached each class with enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine desire to help children connect with the English language in a fun and meaningful way. During this time, I focused on helping children understand the basic sounds of English through structured lessons on letter sounds, blends, and word-building activities. I used a variety of interactive and multisensory techniques—like songs, flashcards, stories, and movement-based games—to make phonics both engaging and effective for early learners. This experience has allowed me to understand how children respond to different learning styles and how consistent phonics practice can boost their confidence in reading and pronunciation. I've also learned to adapt lessons to meet individual needs, provide encouragement where needed, and celebrate small milestones that make a big difference in a child’s learning journey. These six months have been a valuable start to my teaching career, and they have sparked a deep interest in early literacy development. I’m now eager to continue growing as a phonics educator and to bring more creativity, clarity, and care into my teaching practice.
