What is the difference between null and not null in SQL server?

null means there may or may not be data while not null means data must be present.

If 'not null' is used it means that a column cannot have null values. If 'null' is used is used it means that a column can have null values.

As you are strong and interested in SQL, why not to choose ETL Testing? It has a good career ahead in data projects. To survive in the market, you need both Oracle & SQL Server. Actually, both are almost same but are different products.
