Why is written English more difficult than spoken English?

This is because spellings, punctuation marks and grammatical errors make it a bit difficult. On the other hand while speaking, spelling and punctuation mark errors can be ignored but while writing these cannot be kept aside

Spoken English can be spoken without much emphasis on Grammar, as long as a person is able to understand what you are trying to speak, that is enough but Written English needs to be with proper punctuation, sentence formation. In simple terms, Written English is little more complex than Spoken.
