Does "go so much distance" mean "run about" in this sentence, “To revive the church, I've gone so much distance and suffered so much”? I didn't find many examples in Google about "go so much distance".

It is better to use 'Go so far' which means work hard or make efforts beyond one's capability. Ex: I've gone so far to accomplish my dreams and goals. This means I've gone beyond my limits and abilities/I've worked really hard to achieve my goals. read less
