Key points about French: Gender agreement: Nouns are categorized as either masculine or feminine, and adjectives and articles must agree with the noun's gender. Verb conjugation: French verbs have a complex system of conjugation with many tenses and variations depending on person and number. Pronunciation challenges: Many silent letters and variations in pronunciation due to "liaisons" (linking sounds) and "élisions" (dropping sounds) can make French pronunciation difficult for non-native speakers. Latin roots: A large portion of French vocabulary originates from Latin, leading to similarities with other Romance languages like Spanish and Italian. Nasal vowels: French has distinctive nasal vowels that contribute to its unique sound. Formal and informal usage: The distinction between "tu" (informal "you") and "vous" (formal "you") is important in French. read less
