The native people of South Africa were blacks and they made up to almost 3/4th of their population. However, a large number of white people had settled there and became the local rulers. After a new democratic country had emerged, the black leaders urged their fellow black people to forgive the white people for their atrocities. They wanted to build a country which offered equal rights and opportunities to everyone, irrespective of race, religion, gender or color. The South African democracy provided its citizens with the most extensive rights, which made it the most progressive Constitution in the world. read less
