If you are a beginner, I recommend that you start with graphite pencils. They are some of the smoothest and most easily erasable pencils to draw with, making them excellent for confidence-building when you're learning to draw

Beginners should start with an HB pencil for light sketching and an 2B or 4B pencil for shading and darker areas when sketching a realistic human face. These pencils provide a good balance of precision and contrast for capturing details and creating depth.
