It's good that you have got interest in learning music . My advice is start learning carnatic from a teacher. Definitely you can become a good singer with proper training and practice . My best wishes

What exercises should be done by a singer to improve the range?
For me, the siren exercise works really well. Also if you don't know that, just work on holding your breath for as long as you can.
Can I perform live singing if I don't know how to play an instrument?
Yes, of course you can, Many singers does that.
