The web app I am testing using Selenium Webdriver is moving from Angular JS to Angular 2, is it going to throw off my CSS and Xpath references?

It depends on how you have written code. If you have used custom selectors(id or name) then I think the code is safe. But if you have used selectors generated by Angular automatically or used many tags, then you should consider refactoring code. Or even if your developer s are changing the properties...
