I have 5 year of experience in android application development but never got much to work on it. As i have a good knowledge on core java , want to switch for automation testing and want to learn selenium tool. Will it be possible to switch and show my experience in testing for 5 yrs to crack testing interview?

Automated testing is balanced combination of Coding Skills + Validation mindset so if you are good in coding, learning selenium would be a week job. that too you might be do by self practice. Now coming to your original question, to showcase something which in actual you haven't worked is a risk if not well measured. thats where there is a difference between knowledge & experience. Experience gets you confidence to say on what you have knowledge of. So the key answer is, "yes" if you practice upto a level where your knowledge could be completely utilized from day 1 then a good interviewer/company would have bother about what you have experienced actually. and "No" if your solutions to the asked questions are not meaningful then even if you really have even 10 years experience, its not worth for company. Hope you try the logics I gave to find the answer yourself. read less

You can start your selenium training and even you can also use the existing experience testing..
