How good is it to learn Python to move my career from selenium testing to development and to achieve a high CTC?

Moving to development from testing might be a good option, given the current market scenario. Taking up Python to do so, an even better option. Python is steadily branching into various technologies. The ease with which one can code in Python is the reason why its gaining so much popularity.
