Dedicated, Qualifed, and Capable Educator

I am a teacher with experience in both school teaching and tutoring. I have 2 years of school teaching experience along with 10 months of tutoring experience. Before moving into teaching, I worked for 3 years as a Graphic Designer and Video Editor, and this creative professional background has helped me bring a more engaging and visual approach to my classes.

My academic background includes a B.A. in Sociology, an M.A. in Electronic Media, and a B.Ed. with specializations in History and English. I have also completed a B.A. in English and Geography and qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in January 2024. My diverse educational background has given me exposure to subjects across the humanities, languages, media, and education.

My teaching experience so far has been positive and enriching. I have worked with students between 6 and 17 years of age and have experience teaching both groups and individual learners. I understand that students at different ages have different learning needs, so I adapt my approach according to the subject, age group, level of understanding, and specific requirements of each learner.

I believe students learn better when they are actively involved in the learning process. Instead of depending only on textbook-based explanations, I use storytelling, interactive sessions, activities, videos, animations, and other engaging resources wherever appropriate. My creative background in graphic design and video editing also helps me incorporate visual elements into teaching and make difficult concepts easier to understand.

I give individual attention to my students and focus on understanding their strengths, challenges, and learning pace. I use reference books, notes, tests, and regular practice to reinforce concepts and monitor progress. I believe that consistent practice combined with personalized guidance can help students develop better understanding and confidence.

My professional journey has also given me several opportunities to develop my creative and communication skills. During my B.Ed. course, I secured second place in a poster competition in September 2021 and third place in a Letter to the Editor competition in October 2020. I was also recognized as Employee of the Month while working as a Graphic Designer in June 2019.

I have also received recognition for my creative work, including an award from the Bangalore Shorts Film Festival in June 2015 for the documentary *Living on the Dumps*. I bring the same creativity, patience, and dedication into my teaching. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students can understand concepts clearly, participate actively, and develop confidence in their academic journey.
