Teaching Experience in detail in French Language Classes
I have over 20 years of experience teaching French to students across diverse age groups and learning objectives, including school curriculum (CBSE, ICSE, IB), DELF exam preparation (A1–B2), and adult learners. I have worked extensively with school students from Grades 6 to 12, helping them build a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills, while also preparing them for academic assessments and board examinations. My approach focuses on clarity of concepts, regular practice, and structured revision, which has consistently helped students improve their performance and confidence in the subject. In addition, I have trained students for DELF certifications, covering all four competencies—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I design structured lesson plans aligned with exam requirements and incorporate practice tests, role plays, and speaking activities to ensure overall language proficiency. I also work with adult learners and professionals, focusing on conversational French, practical communication, and language skills required for travel, relocation, or personal development. My teaching methodology is student-centric and adaptive, where I tailor lessons based on the learner’s level, pace, and goals. I integrate interactive techniques such as dialogue practice, situational role-plays, and real-life examples to make learning engaging and effective. Over the years, I have developed the ability to work with mixed-ability learners, support hesitant speakers, and create a comfortable environment that encourages active participation. My experience has also helped me identify common learning challenges and address them through structured guidance and consistent feedback.

Teaching Experience in detail in Japanese Language classes
I have experience teaching basic to lower-intermediate levels of Japanese (JLPT N5–N4) to beginners and early-stage learners. My teaching primarily focuses on building a strong foundation in basic grammar, vocabulary, sentence structures, and essential conversational skills. I work with learners who are new to the language and support them in developing confidence in reading (Hiragana and Katakana), simple Kanji recognition, listening comprehension, and everyday communication. My sessions include structured lessons combined with interactive elements such as guided speaking practice, role-plays, and repetition-based learning to reinforce retention. I adapt my teaching methods based on learner needs, especially for students who may find Japanese challenging due to script and sentence structure differences. I focus on simplifying concepts, using clear explanations, and providing consistent practice to help learners progress steadily. While my experience is currently focused on foundational levels, I am actively interested in strengthening my understanding of communicative and Can-do based approaches, such as those used in Irodori, to further enhance my teaching of speaking and real-life communication skills.

"Classes with Uma has been so worthwhile. Uma has a wide range of experience in different fields, for which she provides tutoring. I was a student of French language with her. What I could not achieve after attending Alliance Francaise 3 times, I managed successfully learning with Uma. As a result I passed my DELF exam with flying colours. Her method of teaching is light yet challenging enough to keep you going without feeling overwhelmed. She goes above and beyond to impart the knowledge. Having a good teacher makes learning the most difficult subject also a cake walk. That’s how I felt taking classes from Uma. So thrilled for having found you. Thank you Uma. I strongly recommend Uma to Students and grown ups equally, if you are looking for some learning that stays lifelong. "

"It was a worst experience. Don't join personal coaching these people are too unprofessional. This lady sucked by brain like any thing.I paid 23000 to her for me and my child. My child never joined her classes. She was begging like anything. She said about the commitment.I am bit confused whether this lady knows the meaning of it or not coz she never obeyed it. Bad and worst lady. "

"Very arrogant teacher. My child joined her classes for Cl 10 but left within a month. I didn't even collected the amount left with her. May be she knows the subject but she doesn't know how to impart the knowledge & develop interest in the subject. Needs to work on her teaching technique and her attitude too. "

"She might be very good in French language.. but for higher level Japanese (Above N4) I guess she needs to improve a lot. She needs to work on her teaching technique as well... This is my personal opinion.. Extremely sorry for not writing positive review.. but UrbanPro.com is doing every good Job for the students. So, I thought should share my honest feedback.. "
