If the difference between all the consecutive terms is same then they are in AP. For ex 3,7,11,15,19..... Here difference (7-3) =(11-7) =(15-11) and so on.. between all the consecutive terms is 4. So they are in AP.

A sequence is in AP when the difference between all the consecutive pairs is same. Eg:2,5,8,11,14,17,20,23...... difference is (5-2) = (8-5) = (11-8) and so on....
