The exams for any Indic form of music- be it Carnatic or Hindustani are conducted by different bodies. Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Miraj/Navi Mumbai works it all across India and in the UAE, US, Canada too. The exams are approved by all the Indian Universities, with Sangeet Visharad equivalent to a BA in Music and Sangeet Alankar equivalent to an MA in music.
