Is learning piano on an electronic keyboard an acceptable method?

An electronic keyboard has lesser keys(5 octaves) while a piano has more keys(about 7 octaves). Piano style could be learned on a keyboard, however some it gets tougher to play all the notes required for a piano piece.

Yes indeed. Piano is definitely a very expensive instrument. So initially, instead of starting to learn on a grand piano, you can start learning on a digital keyboard (which is much affordable). Key differences you'll observe. 1. Key feel is ultra premium on Piano. 2. Finger Dexterity can be build better on pianos. 3. Digital piano/keyboard doesn't have such authentic sound quality as compared to a real grand piano. read less
