0So how do you start playing randomly in order to make amazing music ? Even though improv is not really a prepared section of the performance, the many elements that go into a successful improv is and should be well prepared.
Lesson:
Start with only five notes of a scale.
Then make two groups of five notes.
The first group should be the question and the second like an answer.
Play only quater notes for now and try not ending on the tonic note in the first group.
The second group can end on the tonic.
Hear and observe the result. Does it sound like a musical question and answer ?
