Before knowing difference between Slim framework and core PHP, you should also know difference between Core PHP and PHP frameworks. You can say Core PHP is like "You going physically to a shop to buy something" and PHP framework is like "Ordering the items over phone, where someone else will do the physical job of going and getting the items from the shop". Any PHP framework will reduce the lines of cide you have to write using Core PHP, Framework provides "functions" to certain jobs, which makes programming easy. Also there are many other differences. Coming to Slim Framework, Slim framework are mostly used to build Web Services / APIs. The Slim framework is designed to develop web services using PHP with less lines of code. read less
