What are some suggestions for becoming a web developer? I have a medium-to-good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and a bit of SQL.

I'd suggest for the starting, please focus on PHP, MySQL, HTML basics and jQuery. All these techs are required for the beginners. Mostly Interviewers ask among them. I'd suggest for the starting, please focus on PHP, MySQL, HTML basics and jQuery. All these techs are required for the beginners. Mostly Interviewers ask among them. After working more than 5 years in this industry, I found the only way to understand is, writing code by your own hand. Write code again and again, wheather you're on a Sr. position itself. That's the only way you can remember things for long time. In starting, start play with code. Research some topics from internet and explore it. Some of them may be, hello world in PHP, PHP mysql connection, CRUD in PHP, what is AJAX and how to use it etc etc. Focus on code and ask your queries on stackoverflow if any. After some days you will start feeling good in you. In corporate, there are 3 main profiles (for web developers) ie front end developer, backend developer and full stack developer. But I'd say, choose techs based on your own choices. Don't compete with anyone. read less
