Does Node.js offer better performance than PHP Golang?

First what you need to understand — is the fact that for most of the time software platform comparison is not only about performance, and in most cases performance of one instance of software goes pretty much after following factors: Modularity Scalability using ensemble of Databases and other services Readability / Supportability Bug-free programming capabilities etc :) So it means that it is pretty much hard to compare all 3 variants to each other, because, for example, to have a clear comparison of Node to PHP7+ — you first need to breed it with Typescript in best way possible for cover gap in readability and bug-free programming capabilities for large and complex software solutions. But if we talking about some simple (or not) script, or common API server, another real-time-chat-server, simple website or any another copy of some existent service for some simple project which will never grow into something wildly popular and will never have a team working on it together — then probably Node.js is a very good choice to work on such thing without a hassle :) Anyway wrap-up: PHP — it’s a Java-light, all abstraction OOP perks, exceptions, type-safety using dynamic types (sounds awkward), best for corporate software right after Java, do not require Unit test coverage if you have proper team members. Pretty much fastest platform to deliver workable solution on my memory. No guess games — code self-documented. Node — too much hassle for create boundaries for team development, requires Typescript for serious software endeavors. A lot of great libraries and a lot of perks coming and coming. Very fragile on engineer quality, code guess-games possible with any type of framework. GO — didn’t get much time with that one. One great feature — compilation to binary without hassle, otherwise looks a little bit weird after programming for most other platforms, interfaces made a worst way possible, if someone joins project — it may be a lot of guess-games on code for newcomer. read less
