always do practical than joining for a course. there are lots of wild life photography workshops who do seasonally. hands on with camera then you can take these kind of workshops.

If you know to operate DSLR in manual mode and own a super telepohoto lens. You can go to workshops conducted by senior wildlife photographers.

The below can be considered as a good approach. 1) First glance through your manual and learn the features and buttons. 2) Try out few shots by yourself 3) Learn basics by attending basic photography workshops conducted by people like us. 4) It doesn't stop here, it actually starts here. Do join photo/nature walks, understand the animal behaviour or nature. 5) join the tours lead by wildlife photographers. You can enrol for one such walks/workshops or tours. Go for Canon's EOS L-series lenses, if you are serious about wildlife photography - 200mm or above (with 1.6x factor for DSLRs, it becomes 320mm or higher) . Zoom lenses cause distortion, hence compromise on image quality - but provide greater flexibility compared to fixed focal length lenses. However, L-series lenses are very expensive, even though picture quality is unmatchable. For serious photography use a Canon 650D/700D or 7D body.
