Naman Mahajan

I teach Mathematics to students from Classes 8 to 10 on UrbanPro and have around 4 years of teaching experience. Over the years, I have worked with students at different learning levels and have focused on helping them develop a clear understanding of Mathematics rather than simply memorising formulas or methods.

I am currently pursuing my MSc in Mathematics (FYIC) and am in my 4th year. Since my academic background is strongly focused on Mathematics, I am able to bring a subject-oriented and structured approach to my classes. My own continued learning also helps me stay closely connected with mathematical concepts and different ways of approaching problems.

My primary focus is on building strong conceptual foundations. I believe that students perform better when they understand why a particular method works instead of just remembering the steps. I explain concepts systematically, starting with the fundamentals and gradually moving towards more challenging problems based on the student's level and understanding.

I follow a structured lesson plan while keeping my classes interactive. During the sessions, I encourage students to participate, ask questions, and share their approach to solving problems. I work through questions step by step and give students opportunities to practise so that they can apply the concepts independently. This also helps me identify areas where they may need additional explanation or practice.

I conduct both online and offline classes and use PowerPoint presentations and a whiteboard as part of my teaching methodology. I use presentations to organise concepts and examples in a clear manner, while the whiteboard allows me to explain calculations, equations, diagrams, and problem-solving steps in real time. I use these tools depending on the topic and the requirements of the student.

With my experience of teaching Classes 8 to 10, I understand the importance of developing strong fundamentals during these years. Mathematics at this stage requires consistent practice, logical thinking, and the ability to apply concepts to different types of questions. I work with students to strengthen these skills while also helping them become more comfortable with topics they initially find difficult.

My goal is to help students become confident and independent Mathematics learners. I want them to approach problems with a clear thought process, understand the concepts behind their solutions, and improve their academic performance through consistent learning and practice. I aim to make my classes structured, engaging, and focused on meaningful progress for every student.
