A child first needs to understand the structure of any object. So lines, circles, triangles, quadrilaterals should be practiced daily and later a complete subject should be drawn with these forms.

It definitely depends on the age range of the child.. if the child is 3-7 years, you have to teach them shapes first.. and then colors. If the child is 7-12 years, they are pretty good at color observation.. so you can teach them color blending and mixing, then go to the advance knowledge gradually.
