Asanas help us get closer to our body, when practised consistently over time it can bring one out of physical ailments, help strengthen the posture, breathing patterns and slowly motivates one to naturally go deeper.
Pranayamas help one align to natural breathing patterns. Since prana work closely and in coordination with emotions or mind, it helps one strengthen mental wellness being.
Meditation further deals with deeper aspects of mental strength and emotional well being and slowly establishes one with their self and brings one out of deeper fears and phobias when done regularly over a period of time.
Chanting as I understand is a form of yoga when done properly it can bring similar benefits like pranayama and meditation in relatively lesser time.
