Spoken English course's primary objective is to help the students improve their communication skills in English. Students in the basic course will then focus on vocabulary build-up and use of appropriate words in their communication along with some writing practice too. For those opting for the advanced course, other important aspects of English such as Articles, Parts of Speech and Voice will also be explained to learn the proper syntax of sentences. Advance course students will also get a stronger grasp on sentence structure by learning to spot errors, omissions and edit sentences. While speaking is important, complete communication ability will only exist when a person can comprehend what is being communicated and thus respond accordingly. All advanced course students will also do sessions on developing comprehension in English to bring a complete 360° development in their English communication. The course intends to improve the spoken English ability of the students rather than their knowledge of English Grammar. All the classes will extensively be based on practicals where the students will be expected to participate in various activities being given by the trainer. From gradual fill in the blanks type of activities, students are expected to move up to the level where they can handle English communication in various situations, speak, be able to spot their mistakes too and correct themselves. Examples, PPTs, and other audio-video tools will be utilized for pedagogy. All the students will be expected to start working extensively on vocabulary i.e learning words, pronunciation, meaning and usage. The vocabulary preparation should ideally begin even before starting the classes. Newspaper reading, watching videos or TV (any English Channel- with subtitles if you are a beginner) and use of dictionary will go a long way in developing vocabulary.
