If you’ve always felt drawn to Kathak, this is a good place to begin.
This 8-week Kathak for Beginners Course offers a structured and immersive introduction to the form, with three classes a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). The consistent rhythm of practice allows the body to gradually develop coordination, balance, and a deeper connection to movement and music.
Over the weeks, students will learn:
- foundational tatkaar (footwork) and rhythmic patterns
- basic chakkars (spins) with attention to balance and alignment
- an understanding of taal and musicality
- an introduction to abhinaya (expression and storytelling)
- a short, cohesive piece bringing these elements together
The course is designed to support not just learning steps, but building a strong base in rhythm, awareness, and presence. Each session builds on the previous one, allowing for steady and confident progress.
Classes are conducted in a small, focused setting, ensuring individual attention while maintaining the energy of a shared learning space. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to reconnect with Kathak in a structured and consistent way.
