I teach Carnatic music to beginner-level learners below 13 years of age, focusing on building a strong musical foundation in a joyful and encouraging environment. With over 5 years of experience in training students in Carnatic music, I emphasize clarity, discipline, and creativity, helping young learners develop both technical skills and a genuine love for music.
My classes are designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and student-friendly, ensuring that children feel comfortable expressing themselves and asking questions. I begin by understanding each student’s musical exposure, listening ability, and learning pace. Based on this, I introduce fundamental concepts such as shruti alignment, voice culture, basic swaras, rhythm (tala), and simple exercises, progressing gradually to geethams and beginner-level compositions.
I strongly believe that music learning at a young age should be structured yet enjoyable. I use repetition, demonstration, and interactive practice to help students grasp concepts naturally, without pressure. My teaching methodology focuses on listening skills, correct pronunciation, rhythm awareness, and steady voice development, rather than rushing through lessons.
I conduct online classes for individual learners and small groups, ensuring personal attention and consistent guidance. Visual aids, live demonstrations, and regular revision are used to reinforce learning. While I do not provide pre-made notes, I guide students and parents on effective practice techniques and how to build healthy daily practice habits at home.
