This would be a short course over 5 classes of 1 hour each (taught in small groups online) where you will learn one of the most graceful dance forms of the gyapsy travelers residing in southern Spain. This dance form is said to have shared roots with Kathak and history says it originated in Western India (somewhere around Rajasthan) and then it traveled across the Middle East- picking up on more elements and then finally settled in Granada which is known as the birthplace of Flamenco. There are three aspects to this art form - singing, dancing and playing of the guitar. Through this course, you would not only learn the basics of the movement but also be introduced to Flamenco guitar maestros like Paco de Lucia. You will learn about the following:
1. History of Flamenco
2. 2 rhythms - Tangos and Bulerias
3. 'Palmas' or clapping to rhythms
4. Basic footwork on both the rhythms
5. Hand movements
6. Turns
7. Short choreography to authentic Flamenco music
