- Explain the meaning of Pranayama (Prana + Ayama)
- Discuss the role of breath in yoga and the connection between breath and energy
- Share the benefits of regular Pranayama practice
- Breath Awareness (15 minutes)
- Guide participants through a short mindfulness exercise to become aware of their breath
- Discuss common misconceptions about breathing
- Pranayama Techniques (60 minutes)
- Introduction to key Pranayama techniques, including
- Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing)
- Bhramari (Bee Breath)
- Ujjayi (Victorious Breath)
- Sheetali (Cooling Breath)
- Demonstrate each technique and explain its benefits and contraindications
- Allow participants to practice each technique with guidance.
- Pranayama Practice Session (45 minutes)
- Lead participants through a guided Pranayama practice session incorporating the techniques learned
