Experience in School or College
One of the most memorable experiences I had while teaching in school was during a history class with my students. The topic I was teaching was the Revolt of 1857. At first, I noticed that the students were not very engaged, as they found the topic difficult and a bit boring. To make the lesson more interesting, I decided to change my approach. Instead of simply explaining from the textbook, I began narrating the events like a story, describing the bravery of the soldiers and the reasons behind the revolt in a dramatic way. I also asked the students to imagine themselves living in that time and to share how they would feel. Gradually, the atmosphere of the classroom changed. The students became more attentive and started asking questions. Some of them even participated actively by giving their opinions. This interaction made the class lively and meaningful. At the end of the class, a few students told me that they had finally understood the topic and enjoyed the lesson. This experience taught me that teaching is not just about delivering content, but about making learning engaging and relatable for students.
