"Over 25+ years of teaching in ICSE and CBSE schools, I have journeyed with students from their first hesitant steps in learning to confident board-exam takers. Teaching Experience in detail in Class I-V Tuition
With over 25 years of teaching experience in both ICSE and CBSE curricula, my most cherished and formative years have been spent with Class 1 to 5 students (ages 6–11). These primary classes are where the real magic of education begins—building foundations while managing boundless energy, curiosity, and short attention spans. In CBSE schools, the curriculum is structured and concept-focused, especially in early math and EVS, allowing straightforward, activity-based lessons that connect directly to real life (like observing plants or basic numbers through games). I loved how it encouraged uniform understanding across diverse students, making it easier to track progress in core skills. ICSE, on the other hand, offered a richer, more detailed approach with stronger emphasis on English proficiency, languages, arts, and application-oriented projects—even in primary levels. Stories, rhymes, craft-integrated EVS, and detailed project work helped children express creatively and think analytically from a young age. The joys are endless: witnessing that first spark of independent reading, the wide-eyed wonder during a simple science experiment (watching seeds sprout or magnets attract), the infectious laughter in group activities, and the tiny hugs or proud drawings shared at the end of the day. Seeing shy children bloom into confident speakers, or slow learners suddenly grasp a concept after patient one-on-one time, fills me with profound fulfillment. These years forge lifelong love for learning. Challenges included managing hyperactivity and short attention spans—turning chaos into productive energy through songs, rhymes, storytelling, and movement breaks. Handling mixed abilities in large classes required constant differentiation: simpler tasks for some, extension activities for others. Building routines for discipline while nurturing emotional security was key, especially when dealing with separation anxiety in Class 1 or peer conflicts in higher primary. Balancing academics with life skills—like sharing, empathy, and basic manners—through value-integrated stories and role-plays was rewarding. Parent involvement often meant guiding first-time school parents, turning potential worries into strong home-school partnerships. Overall, teaching Classes 1–5 has been the heart of my career: exhausting yet exhilarating, demanding endless patience and creativity, but repaid a thousand times by the pure joy of young minds discovering the world. These foundational years remind me daily why I chose this noble profession.
