The NCERT Class 8 Science, Chapter 9 deals with Reproduction in Animals. In this chapter, you will learn about modes of reproduction in different species of living organisms. Section 9.2 – This section deals with sexual reproduction. In this section, you will learn about the mode of sexual reproduction by the contact of male and female reproductive parts. This is a continuation of previous classes concepts of reproduction. You will also learn about reproduction – beginning with the fusion of male and female gametes, called sexual reproduction. You will learn more about male reproductive organs and female reproductive organs. In this section, you will also learn about fertilisation, which is the fusion of sperm and egg. You will also learn about internal fertilisation and external fertilisation. This section also deals with the process of development of an embryo into a foetus. You will also learn about viviparous and oviparous animals.
