Hey hie ... Like basically both terms go hand in hand .... Both are different beasts... It's not necessary that you should be from technical background ... In this digital era you will find plenty of the courses to learn both of them ... And in terms of money ... Both are highly paid ... It depends on your interest ... In case of career data science is the best choice ... Like you can imagine that Big Data is a sub-set of Data Science ... Big Data is a tool while Data Science is a technology ... For data science make sure you're good enough in statistics and big data require programming skills. Basic java knowledge is required to learn hadoop and spark and python.
