As an Astanga practitioner, I believe yoga is not just about body bending it needs to deal with all 5 kosha's. Yoga asanas help in mastering the physical aspect of the self. But Pranayamas help in getting better control of prana and understanding self better. I spend more time on Pranayamas than Asanas personally, which help me stay calm and serene. I have been teaching Pranayama for more than 4 years and I find tremendous spiritual growth and overall well-being in all my students.
