Answered on 09/06/2021 Learn Music/Vocal Music/Career in Singing
Great singers like Leonard Cohen, Bill Withers and me started singing later in life. Anything you'd ever want to achieve will require time and patience. If you have that, then you will succeed no matter when you start.
Also, why are you singing? If you're singing for the joy music brings, then you will find passion in it and hence, practice more and get better.
If you want to turn it into a profession, you can start with a teacher who will guide you through this maze and work on your strengths/weaknesses.
P S. Please sing often and challenge yourself more. You will be surprised!

Trying is the first step. Dedicate some time every day.
Secondly, work on your foundation skills like diaphragm breathing, Pitching (practice saragams or solefege), Vocal flexibility, rhythm, to name a few aspects of singing.
Thirdly, record yourself and listen to it to identify the areas that need work.
You could then work on your vocal skills with a teacher to navigate things easily or look for specific youtube videos.
Happy singing!
