When teachers take a step back from center stage, they create space for students to collaborate as active math learners. ‘Students are not learning if they are not thinking’. When the questioning process engages all students there’s active thinking taking place, and a belief that all students can learn. She encourages students to think and we know they need to think in order to be successful in mathematics coz if they’re not thinking they’re not learning. To conclude, she is a teacher who is more than a repository of knowledge, she continually relates the textbook concepts to real-world with infectious enthusiasm, imbibes the spirit of the subject, thus evoking similar passions among her students helping them successfully retain knowledge shared. She is adept at presenting tasks in a way that would require and encourage her students to explore them and extract the mathematical ideas for themselves.
