IdentityI’m a kathak teacher, dancer and choreographer and a yoga instructor based in Mumbai, India. I have 8 years of teaching and 18 years of stage experience(Kathak and Theatre) and 4 years of yoga teaching. I conduct offline(Mumbai Only) and offline classes(Worldwide) classes for both the forms. I have a degree in Masters in Performing Arts with a specialisation in Kathak under the tutelage of Pandit Rajendra Gangani. As part of my submission i wrote a research paper on ‘Exploring Symmetry in Yoga and Kathak’.
The syllabus taught in Kathak classes are traditional in approach with an encouragement in contemporary ideas. Besides technical movements based in Taal and storytelling section, students will be introduced to yoga based warm up routines which they can practice in their daily life. Students are encouraged to appear for diploma level exams held by Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya(Mumbai based) and Suro Bharti Sangeet Kala Kendra(Worldwide). Anyone with age 6 and above can attend. People who genuinely cant afford the classes will be given support. Classes are open to all genders and people from the queer community.
