THERE ARE A COUPLE OF REASONS WHY STUDENTS SHY AWAY FROM MATHS. I WILL TRY TO LIST SOME OF THEM (FROM TOP OF MY HEAD). For some reason, they (the students) underestimate themselves. They have the notion that they are not in the bunch of “extraordinary kids” who just happen to be good in Mathematics. They may have bad recollections of their attempts to master skills in the subject at the lower levels of education and hence they shut themselves out. They may have “bad Maths Gurus” - those who do not love the subject and do not create ways to make the subject interesting for students. “Bad” could also mean neglecting students in class who are slow. Such slow students give up after sometime, nothing that the teacher loves being around the ones who get most of their answers correct - not the slow ones”. Those students were not advised properly that everyone should learn Maths eagerly because it would be applied in most areas of life - as in business, home management, loan repayment, navigation techniques, farm management, AI etc. Nobody taught them the rite/correct methods and routine to study this particular subject (and related subjects like Physics, Chemistry, etc).
