Yogesh Parab

I am a Chemistry educator with over a decade of teaching experience, dedicated to helping students develop a strong understanding of the subject and achieve academic excellence. Since July 2013, I have been serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai, where I have had the opportunity to teach and mentor students from diverse academic backgrounds. My teaching journey has been driven by a passion for making Chemistry meaningful, engaging, and accessible to learners.

My academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry. These qualifications have provided me with an in-depth understanding of both fundamental and advanced concepts in the subject. My research background and higher education experience enable me to explain complex topics in a simple and structured manner, helping students develop a deeper appreciation for Chemistry.

Before joining D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, I worked as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at M. H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in teaching, mentoring, and guiding students through various academic challenges. This experience has helped me understand the common difficulties students face in Chemistry and develop effective strategies to address them.

I specialize in teaching Chemistry to Class 11 and 12 students, with a strong focus on conceptual clarity and examination preparation. I believe that Chemistry should not be learned through memorization alone. Instead, students should understand the logic behind reactions, mechanisms, formulas, and principles. My classes are designed to help students connect concepts, apply their knowledge effectively, and develop confidence in solving problems independently.

My teaching methodology is structured, syllabus-oriented, and aligned with the latest curriculum requirements. I prepare detailed lesson plans and teach each topic in a systematic manner, ensuring that students build a solid foundation before progressing to advanced concepts. Every session includes concept explanation, interactive discussions, problem-solving exercises, and regular practice questions to reinforce learning. I also focus on numerical problem-solving and application-based learning, which are essential for excelling in Chemistry examinations.

To make learning more effective and engaging, I use a combination of PowerPoint presentations and digital whiteboard teaching. Visual explanations, diagrams, reaction mechanisms, and step-by-step solutions help students grasp concepts more efficiently. I also incorporate previous years’ examination questions and important practice problems into my lessons so that students become familiar with different question patterns and improve their exam performance.

My objective as a teacher is not only to help students score well in examinations but also to cultivate a genuine understanding of Chemistry. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and approach the subject with confidence. Through consistent guidance, structured learning, and personalized support, I help students strengthen their fundamentals, improve their analytical skills, and achieve their academic goals in Chemistry.
