Will it be a mistake to code the whole in .NET? Is .NET good for a front end? How does it perform with the SQL server?

.NET provide full featured development tools and it is more convenient with SQL Server comparatively Others DB. So i can say it is not a mistake it is your choice to code in .NET or JAVA
