Excel can be used for almost all profiles. For a civil engineer, in times of executing, quantity estimating, planning, contracts, budgeting, designing, quality controlling, quantity estimating etc. As stated Everyone use Excel. The data, when represented in tables, always looks good. The required calculations are one by MS Excel. You can store, replicate, modify the data; however, one might want. Coming to how a civil engineer might find excel to be used, Let's say the quantity estimation engineer wants to know the quantity of steel to be used at the site, HE/She would have to make use of an excel sheet to make a bar bending schedule and assess the quantity of steel. Even if you take surveying, the number of points plotted at the site are noted in the excel sheet to determine the level of the land. Maintaining all the data in the head is very difficult, and remembering the level of a plot at regular intervals will be very difficult without the help of an excel sheet. So to sum up, Ideally for all profiles, MS Excel will be beneficial, So it is strongly recommended to learn excel weel before getting into work All the Best read less
