It would be an added advantage if you have some knowledge of programming, but it is not mandatory. The best is the free sources online, you don't have to pay anything and you have the liberty to choose from many sources. I think you should go with Project Management. You can do certification courses like PMI-PBA(PMI professional In Business Analysis) or Portfolio management. These specialised courses will give you an edge over others.
