Nature of economics is as broad as any other social science but top up with some science departments at the advanced level. You can qualify for PSC jobs and banking sector jobs, MBA positions in corporate after completing MBA, then many opportunities abroad. Teaching positions are also available. Remember economics is the only branch of social sciences that can get you a Nobel Prize.

Scope is more than many social sciences and can help you get high profile PSC and Banking jobs. In addition you get teaching. Opportunities abroad and corporate positions after MBA/Ph.D. are more. Remember economics is the only social science that can get you a Nobel Prize.

For you it would be best to have another complete masters degree. It does not make sense to just have one more year after the 3 year bachelor degree and not do the extra that it takes to complete the Masters degree. Note that along with the MBA which typically takes two years, most Business Schools in the USa have a number of one year Masters degrees like MS in Marketing, or MS in Finance or MS in Business Analytics. The MS is what you would consider as MSc in India, Master of Science.

Harshit replied | 15/07/2016

Mohamed, You can choose Entrepreneurial Management programs of various colleges. The catch is, getting admission in top B-schools for Entrepreneurial Management is comparatively little easy than the regular program. Even few IIMs have also started their Entrepreneurial Wings. I would suggest to go for only top 15 colleges, rest all are same.

Hi Pragati,
Having such a good experience of years in HR/ Marketing you would first need to decide what would you like to do from home. I would suggest working as an HR would be easier. You need to float up a proprietary concern, using your contacts and good offices that you have shared with companies over the years ask them to register you as a recruiter with their company....  more»

So, generally speaking there are a number of things one can do to improve in life regardless
of which field you are in. The process can be broken down into three steps:

1. Self-Assessment
First of all; assess your current situation. For this you must ask yourself some tough questions.
1. What are the skills and knowledge areas which need improving?
2. What are the things that are holding you back from excelling in your field of work?
3. What are the character traits of the leaders in your field?
4. If you are weak in certain areas of work, what is the reason?
5. What is holding you back from being the best in your business?

2. Second; answer these questions as truthfully as possible. Do it on paper.
Once you are sure that you have given your best and unbiased answers, its time
to find out the ways and means by which you can start improving on the skills
you already possess and find ways of acquiring the knowledge and skill you lack.

3. Third; its time to implement and execute. Take it on as a challenge to improve
on your shortcomings and use the new knowledge/skills as soon as possible to improve
on your previous best performances.

Always remember even the best have room to improve. Excellence is a never ending process.
It's a long never ending journey, not the destination. «less
