Being a school teacher was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Although my academic background is in English Literature and I later worked in HR, teaching gave me a completely different kind of satisfaction. I still remember my first day in the classroom. I was nervous but excited. When I stood in front of nearly forty students, all looking at me with curiosity, I realized that teaching was not just about delivering lessons — it was about connecting with young minds. I mainly taught English. I tried to make my classes interactive instead of just reading from textbooks. I encouraged students to speak, share their opinions, and even make small mistakes confidently. Slowly, the students became more comfortable, and I could see improvement in their communication skills. One of the most memorable moments was when a shy student, who never used to speak in class, confidently gave a speech during a school event. After the program, she came to me and said, “Sir, because of you, I’m not afraid anymore.” That moment made me realize the true impact of a teacher. Teaching also taught me patience. Every student learns differently. Some understand quickly, while others need extra time and support. I learned to adjust my methods and remain calm, even on challenging days. Being a teacher is not just a profession; it is a responsibility. You are shaping not only academic knowledge but also character and confidence. That experience made me more empathetic, disciplined, and responsible — qualities that still help me in my career today. Overall, my time as a school teacher was rewarding, challenging, and unforgettable.
