IdentityIn support of my application, I would like to say that Iâ??ve always been passionate about teaching and working with young minds. Recently, I have completed the Cambridge CELTA course at the British Council Teaching Centre (Delhi) and this course helped me to enhance and understand various teaching styles and assessment strategies.
I have gained experience in an educational setting while pursuing CELTA. The teaching practice made me aware of the studentâ??s needs and abilities. These practices made me confident about my teaching skills and honed the skills I lacked. My strengths include:
â?¢ Effective lesson planning.
â?¢ Making good use of materials, resources and technical aids.
â?¢ Analyzing meaning, phonology and form of the target language.
â?¢ Checking to the understanding of the target language by using concept checking questions.
â?¢ Participating in and responding to feedback.
My warm and approachable personality created a comfortable classroom environment. I was able to create interest to learn in my learners through my constant hard work and enthusiasm. I was also given the opportunity to teach Pre-intermediate and Upper-Intermediate level which were of mixed aged ability groups. Practising real hours of teaching, assisted in boosting my confidence and polished my ability to teach well. I believe the skills that I have acquired have strengthened and enabled me to develop not only as a good scholar but also as an able practitioner.
My academic achievements also hold the potential to provide a strong foundation to build and assist in transferring my knowledge. Having said that, Iâ??ve done my Post Graduation in English from Panjab University (Chandigarh) and stood 6th at the University level. I have also been able to publish two research articles:

My interests outside studies include active participation in a range of sports like swimming, chess and badminton. I also enjoy travelling and book-keeping.
