The British always wanted only to loot and enjoy the prosperity & resources of India. After 1857 revolt, the first Indian freedom struggle, they realized that ruling in India would not be more comfortable, so they started practising different experiments in India after that. Soon, they realized that Indians could be divided on the religion, caste and separatism basis as we had much more faith in religion. During the initial times of the 1900s, they decided to divide India's integrity by proposing the partition of Bengal in two parts, i.e. east and west Bengal as you can see in history that most of the revolutions originated in Bengal and Bengal has given many revolutionists to India. So, in 1905, by dividing the Bengal into two parts, they wanted to enjoy India and soon after,1906 they decided to transfer the capital from Calcutta to Delhi.
