In the recent past, recognising the significant role that personality plays in all aspects of our lives has led to a more structured approach towards personality development. Contrary to what might be perceived, online personality development classes also bring about the same changes in people, if not more, than the conventional one-on-one classes.

WHY PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT IS IMPORTANT IN TODAY'S LIFE

As the world becomes increasingly competitive, solely good grades do not guarantee a successful professional life. Creative & critical thinking, leadership, communication skills, confidence etc., are the few qualities that enable individuals to navigate through their workplaces. Individuals with these skills tend to be more efficient and know how to bounce back from failures. It leads them to become more disciplined, optimistic & self-aware.

On a personal front, personality development helps in relationship building, effective communication, empathy, conflict management etc. It improves the quality of the relationships that we share & how we manage and understand our emotions.

BENEFITS OF ONLINE PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CLASSES

  • Better access to personality development sessions from experts around the world
  • Individualisation of learning as the coach can pay close attention to every student
  • Learning takes place at one's own pace
  • Reduces indirect cost & energy expenditure

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT TIPS FOR ONLINE CLASSES

  • Take assignments seriously: It is essential to be honest with your journey towards change and growth. Complete the tasks and assignments to the best of your ability, even if it makes you uncomfortable at first.
  • Take one step at a time: Take notes of all the key points and work towards them every day. Set daily tasks for yourself and achieve them. Continue to do so every day until your target is achieved.
  • Do it until it is no longer a challenge: Afraid of making mistakes during public speaking? Afraid of doing any other thing for fear of failing at it? Challenge yourself regularly so that you can overcome these limitations effortlessly.
  • Be honest & expressive:  Nobody is perfect. You need to be completely honest in all the evaluations carried out during the online session and express yourself in the best manner possible. It leads you to step out of your comfort zone and learn.
  • Interact with your fellow batch-mates: Make an effort to know and interact with your batch-mates. Exchange of ideas is a very effective way to learn and grow.

Personality is the way we see and react to the world. Hence we need to shape it so that we can get the most out of our potential. Online personality development provides the same benefits as the one-on-one classes, provided we make the most of it.

Conflicts are unavoidable parts of any relationship. Even people in the healthiest of relationships have occasional conflicts that arise between them. It is not conflicts that one should try to avoid but the mismanagement of conflicts. Resolving conflicts healthily strengthens the relationship and establishes trust & respect for one another.

However, poor management of conflict impairs the relationship and sows in it mistrust, grudges, anger & sorrow. Conflict management is an acquired skill built on the foundations of emotional intelligence and utilized in various situations, from office to the classroom to homes.

Conflicts are caused due to disagreements that give rise to strong emotions of anger, grief or shock. When there is a discrepancy between a person's needs and what they are received, it leads to disagreements & differences. If not appropriately addressed, these feelings of differences begin to grow and damage the relationship in the long run.

TIPS TO RESOLVE CONFLICTS

  • Empathize: Understand the feelings of the other individual. Try and look at the issue from their point of view to understand what it is that is influencing them the most. Avoid discrediting their feelings as this would do more harm to the relationship.
  • Listen: Instead of indulging in heated arguments with the other person, listen to them with the intent to understand what they mean. If both parties speak and none listens, the conflict will intensify, and the relationship may go sour.
  • Express, but remain respectful: Be as respectful as possible while addressing the conflict. Don't use harsh words or insult the other person no matter how angry you are. If you feel angry, take your time to deal with the situation.
  • Work out a healthy solution: Discuss and arrive at a beneficial conclusion wherein both of your issues are duly addressed. Make sure the solution deals with the problem so that you leave the discussion feeling respected.
  • Bury the past and move on: Move on from the past, and leave any bitterness behind. Sort out those feelings once and for all and look forward to a better and stronger relationship.

Conflicts are not to be avoided but to be handled constructively. Doing so would strengthen the bond between the individuals & encourage healthy communication.

Here are how you could transform your personality for the better:

  • Know where you stand before starting: Learn as much as you can about your strengths, weaknesses, repeated mistake patterns, emotional triggers etc.
  • List down areas where you want to see improvement: Pick up traits you feel need improvement and critical work areas.
  • Sign-up for personality development classesAn experienced mentor would be able to see through your personality aspects & prescribe workable action plans.
  • Read, read, read: The more you read, the better you learn. Reading enlightens and widens perspectives.

It is actually perceived as a very easy question to answer because it is typically considered as a routine question - like a warm up! However in reality it is actually a leading question that often gives the interviewer a chance to start forming opinions about the candidate and the drift of the interview right away.

From a candidate's perspective this can become a difficult question if you have not prepared well for it, in advance. Actually this question is a wonderful opportunity for the candidate to showcase his strengths and veer the conversation towards his areas of expertise.

Tell me about yourself which can help me to gauge your candidature as an Economist to me?

Good morning/Afternoon Sir/Ma’am.

Thank you for giving this wonderful opportunity to me to introduce myself to you. I am ————-(Your Name). We are five members in my family including me.  I am native to —— (City Name), and open to relocate to ________ (city name as mentioned in the job description). Currently, I am pursuing B.A. in Economics at the ___________ (University Name), and I will be entering into final year of my graduation studies in the next couple of months. Ever since, I started studying Economics in my school days. I realized, I enjoy analyzing things connected to the society, and the Mother Nature. Since my childhood days, I have witnessed my family focusing upon correct utilization of house hold items, and guiding us towards understanding the whites, and blacks of the possible outcomes. I believe, this somehow further boosted my interest towards Economics as a career option.

  • For me Economics is all about making right decisions at the right time, and studying the possible outcomes.
  • I have an analytical approach towards things I do. I believe, that helps me to understand a wide range of issues from what determines the price, causes, and consequences.
  • I believe, economics is having an excellent graduate prospects. Economics is truly all around us. Studying the subject gives me a generalist understanding of the world we live in and its inner workings.
  • The case-based learning emphasis on economics degrees makes it really easy to see how the theory has real-life applications, particularly when considering the recent volatility of global markets.

What I find extremely attractive being an Economist is that the profession is so demanding, everything changes so quickly and every day is a new sunrise. Such a dynamic environment is certainly very exciting, but maybe a little bit stressful too. However, I can multitask, and deal with pressure.

Currently, I want to secure a job with ___________ (company / institute name you are appearing for).

My long term goal is by gaining work experience of 07-08 years in the field of Economics. I wish to work on a senior position, contributing to the betterment of my work place and the society.

I am a self-motivated, and a disciplined soul. I am always keen to up-skill myself by learning new things whenever I get a chance. I have done my internship(s) / project(s) from this (these) company (ies), and my role(s) was (were)…….. I am a certified resource in _________ (certification names).

Apart from studies, I enjoy participating in drama. I am a player of Badminton too.

My strengths are my analytical approach, my human touch to the situations, my appreciable communication, and presentation skills. I believe upon being realistic.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, sometimes cooking, listening to music, doing drama, reading, travelling, and playing outdoor sports.

Thank you very much for making me to speak about myself. If you have any specific question, pls. ask, I will be glad to answer that.

As someone who actively take interviews for Expedia. This what I look when I interview a candidate for a technical role and most other companies must be looking for similar things. Good problem solving skills coming to final solution is not necessary, but your thought process is what is observed very carefully. How you approach a problem. Good communication skills , ability to convey what's in your mind. These are the most important skills. After that comes your technical skills which can give you an edge over other candidates. But if you don't have the skills mentioned earlier then there's high probability if not getting selected. And you know what we are given special training to test a candidate on above skills. And the best thing is you can develop these skills by practice and giving mock interview. Let me know if you need any further help. read less
