Draw a circle with radius = 5 cm.
Imagine it as a pizza š (yum!), radius 5 cm.
Tangents meet outside the circle at 60°.
Draw a big triangle outside the circle, whose tip is where the tangents meet. Think of it as a party hat š© on top of the pizza.
Let the tangents meet at point P outside the circle.
Draw a line from P to the center O of the circle. This will bisect the 60° angle into 30° on each side.
Use tricky but simple formula:
Here,
So, distance from center to intersection = 10 cm (P is 10 cm from center O).
Draw a circle of radius 5 cm.
Mark the point P, 10 cm away from center O.
Draw two straight lines from P to touch the circle. These are your tangents.
Angle between tangents = 60° ā
Radius = 5 cm ā
You just drew tangents like a geometry wizard
